This stainless steel bell-shaped ended "plunger" style of egg topper/cutter takes some practice to use, and gives years of very good consistent results.

Put the bell end on the small end of the egg, pull the plunger back part way, and let if fly! It will lightly score the egg in a circle. (Don't pull back too far, or you'll break the egg, rather than scoring it. Practice!) Then using a sharp knife, slice/lift the top off.
